Guided tours of the Cold War Bunker
During the height of the Cold War, in the 1950s and 1960s, nearly 50 bunkers were constructed across Canada. In 2017, the Nelson Museum began work on restoring the space and opening it to the public. You can join a tour of one of the Museumʼs best-loved spaces!
Open Mic Night at The Angry Hen

The first Wednesday of every month. All live music is presented in conjunction with Propel Studios, a full-production recording studio with accommodation directly across the street from The Angry Hen.

Nelson International Mural Festival
Nelson International Mural Festival is an annual celebration of public art in Nelson, BC, Canada, organized by the Nelson & District Arts Council. Join us as local, national, and international artists convene to paint the canvas of the city’s walls.
Meat & Prize Draws
Every Friday afternoon, the Nelson Royal Canadian Legion (402 Victoria Street – Stanley Street Entrance) holds meat & prize draws from 3 to 5 pm. There is also often a 50/50 draw. All proceeds to local charities. Please come out and join us in a great community cause.

‘The Witness Blanket’ opening reception
the Nelson Museum, Archives & Gallery (NMAG) is honoured to exhibit a replicated portion of The Witness Blanket in the fall of 2024, on tour from the Canadian Human Rights Museum in Winnipeg, Manitoba. Inspired by a woven blanket, The Witness Blanket is a large-scale work of art created by artist Carey Newman.

TIRED COSSACK w/ DANA LEE
Post-punk, shoegaze-inspired indie rock, and the odd alt-country twang combine in Tired Cossack. Coming from Winnipeg, Canada, he demonstrates an ability to use simple and upbeat music to break musical conventions. His songs flow like a meandering path devoid of care.
