‘Elevation’ exhibition

This four-seasons backyard playground produced world-class athletes, built a tourism economy, and hosts adventurers from around the world.  This winter, the Nelson Museum, Archives & Gallery presents Elevation – an ambitious exhibition exploring the vast expanse of the mountains in the Kootenays.

exploring indian desserts: making gulab juman with rabri

Join us and chef Rahul Joshi for an exciting 4-part series exploring Indian Cuisine. From pakoras to tandoori, curries and desserts, over 4 weeks we’ll explore cooking a full course Indian meal from appetizers to desserts. Anne of Green Gables

Ballet Jörgen: Anne of Green Gables – CAPITOL SEASON

The creation of Anne of Green Gables – The Ballet® is monumental for Canada’s Ballet Jörgen as it is the first time the story has been authorized for creation as a full-length ballet. Making the production even more special, a company of 16-20 dancers will be joined on stage by local dancers.

Nelson Daybreak Rotary International Dinner

Come and join the Nelson Daybreak Rotary Club in our annual international dinner held at the Mary Hall campus of Selkirk College. The dinner is $75 per person and includes a multi course dinner prepared by the incredible Selkirk college chefs. There will be many items auctioned off at the event and online.

Meat & Prize Draws

Every Friday afternoon, the Nelson Royal Canadian Legion (402 Victoria Street – Stanley Street Entrance) holds meat & prize draws from 3 to 5 pm.  There is also often a 50/50 draw.  All proceeds to local charities.  Please come out and join us in a great community cause.

Guided Cold War Bunker tours

During the height of the Cold War, in the 1950s and 1960s, nearly 50 bunkers were constructed across Canada. In 2017, the Nelson Museum began work on restoring the space and opening it to the public. You can join a tour of one of the Museumʼs best-loved spaces!

Weekly Tango Mini Lesson & Practice

Want to learn and practice dancing Argentine Tango? We host a weekly mini-lesson and practica at Christie Lee’s Hall in Fairview. The guided portion from 7:30-8:15 has a different host and topic each week (check our Facebook page for host and topic announcements). We have an open practice after the lesson until 9:30pm. Dancers of all levels are welcome!
