In the modern world, where digital information is consumed ad nauseam, the artists in PULP are embracing the poetic simplicity of paper, and wielding its unparalleled ability to capture emotion, texture, data, knowledge, and imagination.

The history of communal living is the subject of Utopia Unveiled: Intentional Communities in the Kootenays, the latest history exhibition at the Nelson Museum, Archives & Gallery. Utopia Unveiled features artifacts, photographs, and stories from the Shawn Lamb Archives and the Doukhobor Discovery Centre, as well as many contributions from community members.

Relaxation offers the possibility of becoming still, softening and opening. The healing benefits – physically, emotionally and mentally – can be profound. The focus for this retreat includes guided relaxation, meditation and asana as well as tools to help you open to your own personal symbolism.

Every Friday afternoon, the Nelson Royal Canadian Legion (402 Victoria Street – Stanley Street Entrance) holds meat & prize draws from 3 to 5 pm.  There is also often a 50/50 draw.  All proceeds to local charities.  Please come out and join us in a great community cause.

Come on down to Torchlight Brewing Co. in Nelson, every Friday, for some end of the week week good times and great tunes!

Baker Street will come alive from 6 to 10pm. Market Nights in Nelson will be sure to please everyone. There will be vendors from all over British Columbia, Food Trucks, Farmers, Performers and much more!
