Camping & Glamping

With so many beautiful campgrounds and full-service RV parks throughout the area, you're really spoilt for choice in the Nelson and Kootenay Lake region.

Our camping season runs from April through October, although snow can affect the edges of that time. July and August are guaranteed to be great camping weather, with long hot days and cool breezy evenings. Views in these remote locations offer magical starry nights, big open views of the Selkirk and Purcell mountains and Kootenay lake, and the sought-after peace and quiet.

If you're looking for remote forest spots, to access mountain recreation activities, why not stay at the new Hummingbird Lodge & Campsite at Whitewater Ski Resort. Or stay close to the action, at Nelson City Campground or Kaslo Municipal Campground

If glorious lake views and water sports are at the top of your list, our waterside camping options are plentiful. Try the large Kokanee Creek Provincial Park, Schroeder Creek, Woodbury, Lost Ledge or Davis Creek. BC Parks has created a system that allows you to see what is available - check out Kootenay Lake and at Kokanee Creek

Spending time exploring the East Shore is a remote glorious adventure.  Check out Garland Bay, Riondel, Bernard Bay or Pebble Beach.

View all campgrounds using our map listing below and be sure to book ahead, these magical spots get booked up quickly.
