Kootenay Lake shines in the summer, from dawn to dusk. Arts and culture are alive with street performances, outdoor art installations, murals, and festivals. Acclaimed events, including Shambhala Music Festival, Starbelly Jam, and the Kaslo Jazz Etc Summer Music Festival, mix spectacular backdrops with unforgettable sounds. Outdoor markets in multiple communities feature locally and organically grown produce with unique crafts and finds. Warm weather invites visitors to relax on sandy beaches and enjoy watersports on lakes and rivers. Hiking and mountain biking season is in full swing with epic alpine vistas and twisting descents. Enjoy locally brewed craft beers, freshly picked fruits and vegetables and innovative cuisine on sunny patios.
Summer Lake Days
In keeping with the Nelson and Kootenay Lake culture, our mountain bike trails appeal to the spirit of mountain biking. We’ve got lovely, gentle railway grades that start minutes from community centres (Kaslo, Nelson, Balfour, Crawford Bay) that take you along forested trails, over restored trestle bridges and into peaceful paradise.
