Here is a writer that takes you on a tour of your own feelings in a way that leaves you grasping for your own heart just to make sure it’s still in your chest. His work has become a staple in schools for both its impact and reach.

There is so much amazing local talent in the Kootenays we need two nights a week to show it all off. All musicians and performers welcome.

Meat & Prize Draws
Every Friday afternoon, the Nelson Royal Canadian Legion (402 Victoria Street – Stanley Street Entrance) holds meat & prize draws from 3 to 5 pm. There is also often a 50/50 draw. All proceeds to local charities. Please come out and join us in a great community cause.
Guided Cold War Bunker tours
During the height of the Cold War, in the 1950s and 1960s, nearly 50 bunkers were constructed across Canada. In 2017, the Nelson Museum began work on restoring the space and opening it to the public. You can join a tour of one of the Museumʼs best-loved spaces!

Late Nite Happy Hour from 8-11
Cut-Throat Karaoke
You are cordially invited to sing your lungs out at Cut-Throat Karaoke every Saturday night from 9-late at Uptown Tavern.
Learn to Carve an Eating Spoon
In this 6 hour workshop, we will take a deep dive into the world of green wood spoon carving. We’ll cover all the skills you’ll need to go out into the woods identify, cut, cleave, axe, carve, and finish a beautiful and ergonomic piece of functional wooden ware.

Drop in between 3:30 and 4:30 every Tuesday for CRAFTERNOON at the Nelson Public Library.
Crafts, LEGO, Ozobots, DatoDuo, STEAM stations & more! Every week is a bit different.
Activities will be geared towards school aged children aged 5-13.

Lebanese Stew: Kafta bi Batata
This traditional Lebanese dish is popularly made with spiced meatballs and potatoes into a delicious stew. Rahul Joshi will take students through the process of making authentic Kafta bi Batata from start to finish as well as Lebanese hummus, tzatziki and chili garlic dip served with pita to accompany the stew. Join us for a flavorful evening.
