The Best Car Shows in Kaslo and Nelson

If you've taken a road trip around the Nelson and Kootenay Lake region, you know it's the perfect place for a drive. With quiet lakeside roads and breathtaking scenery, it's no wonder our communities host car shows with some truly unique and rare vehicles.

If you're a car buff, this is the event for you. For more than 25 years, during the Kaslo May Days celebrations, Kaslo Show and Shine has taken over downtown Kaslo with a unique collection of historic vehicles.

Sunday May 21 2023

You'll find over 100 vehicles from across British Columbia, the Prairie Provinces and the USA Pacific Northwest, gathering to show off their vehicles and polished to perfection. New for 2023, see "Miss British Columbia", a world recording beating nitro and drag powered boat!

Vehicles aren't the only thing in this epic show, you'll be in awe of the record holding “Miss British Columbia” - a hydro plane nitro methane powered 1,500hp. boat. Whew! Nearly too much for a gear head to take in!

If you're interested in joining the show, register your vehicle at Kaslo Show and Shine.

Calling all classic car enthusiasts to the 19th annual Queen City Cruise in Nelson! Organized by Nelson Road Kings since 2003, come and view a spectacular range of vehicles from pre-1949 to present day. Lovingly restored, sparkling clean and ready to hit the open road around Kootenay Lake, in support of local charities.

Friday & Saturday September 8-9, 2023

Participants will gather at Railtown, Nelson, on Friday September 8th for food, entertainment, and a parade down the iconic Baker Street. While on Saturday, September 9th, Baker Street will be closed to traffic so spectators can get a closer look at these beautifully maintained cars, trucks and motorcycles. There will be trophy prizes for some lucky participants, which include Most Club Members, Hard Luck, Longest Distance, and Best of Show.

Continue down Baker Street to find lots of artisan and food vendors, live music and entertainment, or find a spot on a nearby restaurant patio to soak up the late fall sunshine.
