Write Off the Bat! is a writing marathon, a juried competition, and a chance to hang with your fellow writers—and we feed you! How great is that? It’s about new writing that speaks to one of our two themes, to be revealed at the start. There are three categories: Fiction, Creative Nonfiction, and Poetry Series. Entries will be judged based on the quality of the work and how well they respond to the theme. Work will be judged anonymously. All entries will receive brief written commentary from the juror. There will be prizes! Taghum Hall is pleased to partner with the Elephant Mountain Literary Festival (emlfestival.com). Registrants will receive an email with more information. Write Off the Bat! runs September 23 & 24, 9am – 5pm each day at Taghum Hall, just outside Nelson.
