This four-seasons backyard playground produced world-class athletes, built a tourism economy, and hosts adventurers from around the world.  This winter, the Nelson Museum, Archives & Gallery presents Elevation – an ambitious exhibition exploring the vast expanse of the mountains in the Kootenays. 

Beyond celebration, Elevation explores the resounding environmental impact, the elitism of mountain sports, land and resource use, and more. Elevation presents a balanced approach to understanding mountain life.

the exhibition runs November 25 2023 to March 2 2024. Admission is $8 for adults, $6 for seniors and FREE for youth under 18 and members.
