10th Annual Blues, Brews, and BBQ at Finley’s – April 6, 2024! Fundraising for the Kootenay Blues Society and Kootenay Co-op Radio, Celebrating 25 Years of Community-Powered Radio!
Join us for an unforgettable evening as we celebrate the 10th annual Blues, Brews and BBQ Fundraiser, featuring two sensational bands: the dynamic “Flaming Aardvarks” and the soulful “Barbecue Brews Blues Band.” This year, all proceeds will support the invaluable work of Kootenay Co-op Radio and Kootenay Blues Society. Your presence and generosity will ensure the continuation of live music and the vital community contributions of these local nonprofit organizations.

Adding to the excitement, Kootenay Co-op Radio marks a milestone of 25 years on the air, making this event all the more special. And let’s not forget “The Revenge of Flaming Aardvarks,” featuring Hal Aardvark on Bass, David Kempster on Drums, and the incomparable Mr. Aardvark on vocals and guitar. Prepare to be dazzled by their unique blend of Aardvark originals and timeless blues classics.

Closing the night with irresistible blues grooves, the Barbecue Brews Blues Band promises an electrifying performance. Led by Nelson’s finest blues vocalists, Aryn Sherrif and Holly Hyatt, this talented ensemble includes Tom Thomson on Piano and Organ, Marty Carter on Sax, Flute, and Harmonica, Jon Burden on Guitar, Steve Wilson on Drums, and Holly Hyatt on Bass.
