The Royal

Spring is in the air and we’ve lined up a banger to kick off the winter season’s closing weekend! With a full PK Sound install care of Live Harmonics, The Royal will be absolutely booming from 8pm through ‘til last call at midnight with a mixed bag of electronic beats, care of the following DJ’s..

•• Dan Sadler ••
UK – “Farewell For Now” Set
Filling dancefloors since 2014, Sadler is a UK-based DJ who incorporates ravey basslines, acid synths, and uplifting, euphoric piano stabs into his “Bristol-style” sets. Expect to hear UK Garage, old school Breaks, Jungle Hardcore, 90s Rave and likely a 2-handed rewind. Blended Rave tracks for certified Ravers!

•• Jess Thew ••
Revelstoke // UK
UK ex-pat and Nelson crowd favourite Jessica Thew will be making her way down from Revelstoke, where she has been DJing at the Last Drop, to bless us with a delightful drum & bass set – not to be missed!

•• Spilly ••
Spilly B has been locked away in the studio perfecting his productions – and on this night he will finally make his DJ debut! Do not miss the latter half of his set, during which he plans to unveil some of his original works for a world premiere.

•• Dubonscious ••
Your Host & Resident Selector

You may have caught Dubconscious at Shambhala (on the Living Room Stage, in the Grove or at The Village), Bass Coast, Wicked Woods, Victoria Ska & Reggae Festival or at any one of a number of prestigious nightclubs/venues across western Canada. Raised on amens, Reese basslines and ragga chat in Toronto’s vibrant jungle scene, he now calls Nelson his home where he continues to weave cohesive sound tapestries coloured by his unique influences and handpicked sounds & styles – generally rooted in reggae / dub / soundsystem culture.

On this night, Jake will be playing a series of short sets to stitch the night together and showcase his peers’ sets best.

The soundsystem will be tuned in nicely and this night is all about having FUN and closing the season off with a bang. Consent is strongly emphasized – and while everyone is encouraged to have a drink and a dance, we do ask that you be mindful of the energy that you bring to and space that you occupy on the dance floor. If you have any issues or see any conflicts escalating, please notify Royal staff immediately.
