Fluffy, deep. dry and white, Nelson has a reputation for legendary powder. You’ll most likely need to experience what we’ve got in order to fully appreciate it: And you can, whether it’s backcountry touring, alpine at Whitewater Ski Resort, nordic skiing throughout the region, or fat tire biking.

The Kootenay Lake area has more Cat Ski operations than anywhere else in the world, making our area the Cat Ski Capital of the World. And of course, where there’s cat skiing, heli skiing isn’t far away. We’ve got enough powder and vertical in our backcountry to go around, so come join us for some epic runs.
