This itinerary has been carefully curated for those in pursuit of vibrant scenes and immersive cultural encounters.

8:30am

To kickstart your day in Nelson, a town renowned for its coffee culture, don’t miss the chance to savour a delicious coffee and breakfast at one of the iconic morning spots such as Sidewinders Coffee, Empire Coffee or No6 Coffee Roaster. Sip on some of the finest brews in the region and maybe even grab one to go!

10:00am

Stroll over to the Nelson Museum, Archives & Gallery and uncover the historic wonders that reside within its four walls. Amidst the marble and brick, you'll find years of local history and interactive exhibits that allow you to immerse yourself. Be sure to explore the Nelson Sports Collection, which celebrates the most prolific athletes from the region as well as the bunker constructed during the Cold War capable of holding up to 8,000 officials in the event of nuclear destruction.

12:00pm

Jump in your car and drive to Kaslo along the winding roads that take you through the last remaining inland temperate rainforest on earth. Once you arrive, head to the Langham Cultural Centre. Take a leisurely stroll through the halls of the centre, where you’ll be captivated by a diverse array of art exhibits. These exhibitions showcase the work of professional artists from both the local area and across Canada.

1:30pm

Make a pit stop at one of Kaslo’s charming lunchtime spots, such as Bluebelle Bistro or Treehouse Restaurant. Recharge your energy with a hot bowl of soup and a sandwich. If you feel like sharing, venture to Buddy’s Front Street Pizzeria to indulge in a hot slice. Before you disembark, don’t miss the opportunity to visit Teresa's Coffee Shop for a baked treat or hot chai latte for the ferry ride to the East Shore.

3:30pm

Once you arrive at East Shore, you will be warmly welcomed by the talented artisans of Crawford Bay. You will find plenty of quirky studios that are nestled amongst nature. Admire the craftsmen at work as they create magic before your eyes. Explore the wonders of North Woven Broom Co., Barefoot Handweaving, Kootenay Forge, La Gala Jewelry, and FireWorks Copper Enamel. Be sure to save space in your bags, as you’re bound to find one-of-a-kind gifts for your loved ones.

5:30pm

Once you have acquired your artisan goods, make your way back to Nelson aboard the Kootenay Lake Ferry, then settle into one of the area’s esteemed heritage hotels. These hotels serve as remarkable time capsules, housing vintage furnishings and a charming history. Some of these gems were built in 1898 and have been well-preserved to continue hosting travellers from around the world. Consider the Hume Hotel, Cloudside Hotel and Tremont Loft for your stay.

7:00pm

It’s time to hit the town with dinner and a show. Nelson boasts an exceptional restaurant scene with more options per capita than Manhattan, ensuring endless dining choices. Choose an upscale sit-down dinner at Pitchfork Eatery, Broken Hill or Sage Tapas and Wine Bar. If you’re in the mood for a more casual meal, consider visiting Cantina Del Centro, Red Light Ramen or Kurama Sushi. After enjoying your meal, discover Nelson’s vibrant live music scene, where you can dance the night away at one of the many musical events. Or, check out an awesome theatre performance.
