Shredding Awesome

If you choose not to find joy in the snow, you will have less joy in your life but still the same amount of snow. - Anonymous

Words, images and prizes to get you inspired

Close your eyes for a second. Visualize yourself out in nature. Your skis or your board attached to your feet. Perfection in front of you; perhaps an open field of powder, a perfect freeride line, or a well built terrain park, depending on your idea of perfection. Skiing and snowboarding are an intensely personal thing we do, but also a beautiful, social experience to be shared with fellow acolytes of “shredding”, as some call it. For many in Nelson and in Balfour, Kaslo and North Kootenay Lake, it’s why we came here in the first place, and it's why some never left. The visceral adrenaline and unbridled joy of shredding runs in the veins of the locals here and in the communities themselves. It is, above all else, awesome.
