Meat & Prize Draws
Every Friday afternoon, the Nelson Royal Canadian Legion (402 Victoria Street – Stanley Street Entrance) holds meat & prize draws from 3 to 5 pm. There is also often a 50/50 draw. All proceeds to local charities. Please come out and join us in a great community cause.

Are You Listening? a one-woman play by Zaynab Mohammed
World events make the one-woman play on Friday, April 19 at 7:30pm at Taghum Hall feel especially timely. Nelson poet, artist, and performer Zaynab Mohammed performs “Are You Listening?”, a carefully woven narrative that traces centuries of colonization and displacement and reflects on what is learned through the art of listening.
Guided Cold War Bunker tours
During the height of the Cold War, in the 1950s and 1960s, nearly 50 bunkers were constructed across Canada. In 2017, the Nelson Museum began work on restoring the space and opening it to the public. You can join a tour of one of the Museumʼs best-loved spaces!

‘Grow Show’ book launch
Join MC Adam O. Thomas and Curator Arin Fay for an evening of storytelling at the official launch of Grow Show, the coffee table book inspired by the 2021 exhibition, which was designed and published by NMAG.

Taghum Hall’s Earth Day
Taghum Hall’s Earth Day, on Sunday, April 21 from 10am – 3pm, is a much-anticipated annual event with something for everyone, including live entertainment, fun contests, eco-oriented info-booths and vendors, a kid’s zone, seed swap, and more. Refundable bottles are welcome to help fund the Hall’s eventual kitchen renovation. Admission is by donation.
